GDPR Compliance
How AfriVote supports data protection rights for users in the EU/EEA and beyond.
Last updated: August 2026
1. Our approach
While AfriVote is built primarily for African institutions, we apply GDPR-aligned practices to anyone using the platform, regardless of location, because good data protection is good practice everywhere.
2. Legal basis for processing
We process account data under contract (to provide the service you signed up for), and certain optional data (like analytics) under consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
3. Your rights under GDPR
If GDPR applies to you, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or port your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us via our Contact page.
4. Data transfers
Where personal data is transferred across borders (for example to our hosting or payment providers), we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
5. Data Protection Officer / contact
For any GDPR-related inquiry, including complaints, please reach out through our Contact page and we'll route it appropriately.
